Database Definitions

Q1) Definitions:
Field: A colleciton of fields makes up a records and records make up databases. Each field holds one type of information and there are many tables of different information and all this is collected and put into one record.
Record: A record is basically a collection of  fields with different information. A set of these records are put into a file.
File: This is a collection of data which holds records and fields about a certain person's or item's information.
Query: Querys search for records that match field criterea/s. We are able to search multiple records.
Database: A database is a collection of information organised on a computer. It allows easy access to data that you want or that you desire. It is like a electronical filing system.
Report: A formatted and organized presentation of data.
DBMS: Stands for Database Management System it is a collection of programs that allows you to store, modify, and extract information from a database.
Data Dictionary: It is a file that outlines the basic organisation  of a database. the number of records in each file, and the names and types of each field within a database.
Data Type: A  particular type of  data that is held in database.
